GRS Auctions to Honor 118-Year Legacy of Fry Wagner United Van Lines Through January Auction Series

St. Louis Moving Company's Century of Service to Be Celebrated Through Strategic Asset Transition

ST. LOUIS, MO – When a company serves a community for over a century, its closure marks the end of an era. Fry Wagner United Van Lines, operated by the Fry Family since 1907, has been an integral part of St. Louis's moving and storage industry for 118 years. As the company transitions out of business, GRS Auctions & Liquidations has been selected to manage the liquidation of their equipment and assets through an online auction series this January.

"The Fry Family built something remarkable over more than a century of service to St. Louis," said Nancy Cripe of GRS Auctions & Liquidations. "We consider it an honor to be selected to assist them during this transition and to help preserve their legacy by ensuring their equipment finds new purpose with buyers who will continue to put it to good use."

A St. Louis Institution Since 1907

For 118 years, Fry Wagner United Van Lines has been synonymous with reliable moving and storage services throughout the St. Louis area. The company's longevity speaks to the trust generations of families and businesses placed in them during some of life's most significant transitions – moving homes, relocating businesses, and safeguarding belongings.

The upcoming auction series will feature the commercial -grade equipment that powered over a century of operations, including forklifts, material handling equipment, diesel mechanics shop equipment, tools, moving supplies, household goods inventory, and storage containers.

GRS's Approach: Understanding Value, Honoring Legacy

Since 2009, GRS Auctions & Liquidations has worked with established St. Louis businesses navigating similar transitions. The company's approach goes beyond simple asset disposition – it's about understanding the story behind each business and ensuring a respectful, professional conclusion to their operations.

GRS has managed significant liquidations for other long-standing St. Louis companies, including American Foundry Manufacturing Company, which served the region for 137 years, and Rock Hill Mechanical after 70 years as a family business GRS executed a comprehensive 7-auction series to strategically manage their assets.  GRS is also managing the daily surplus liquidation for Boeing.

"Taking time to understand an asset's true value and developing an effective liquidation plan is what sets us apart," Cripe explained. "For a company like Fry Wagner United Van Lines, with over a century of history, we're not just selling equipment – we're facilitating the final chapter of a St. Louis business story with the respect and integrity it deserves."
