Getting Started

Who does GRS Auctions work with?
We work with corporations, small business owners, attorneys, financial institutions, real estate brokers, and contractors who need to liquidate commercial equipment, surplus inventory, or close a facility. If you have assets to sell, we want to hear from you.

What types of items does GRS Auctions sell?
GRS specializes in commercial and industrial assets, including:
  • Restaurant and commercial kitchen equipment
  • Industrial machinery (CNC routers, lathes, forklifts, sheet metal brakes)
  • Medical equipment and office furniture
  • Tools, shop equipment, and warehouse supplies
  • Ground support equipment (GSE)
  • Business and facility liquidations of all sizes
  • How do I get started as a consignor or seller?
Contact us at 636-600-1009 or info@grsauctions.com to discuss your assets. We’ll evaluate your inventory, recommend the best auction strategy, and walk you through the process from start to finish.

The Auction Process

How long does the auction process take?
From initial contact to auction close, the typical timeline is 21–28 working days. Timelines may vary depending on the size of the project, equipment removal requirements, or rigging scheduling.

How does GRS market my auction?
We customize a strategic marketing program for each auction, and promote auctions across multiple channels to maximize qualified bidder reach:
  • GRS website (grsauctions.com) and GRSBidNow.com
  • Email campaigns to our active bidder database
  • Social media (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube, TikTok)
  • Third-party platforms including Bidspotter, Auctiontime, ProxiBid, Live Auctioneers and GSE Marketplace (as needed)
  • Paid digital advertising
Will my assets be photographed and documented?
Yes. Every item is professionally photographed and documented with full specifications for the online listing. Accurate, detailed listings drive more bids and better results.

Can buyers inspect items before bidding?
Yes. We encourage inspections and schedule in-person preview times — typically 3 PM–5PM on weekdays  — so bidders can inspect items before placing bids. This increases buyer confidence for placing final bids.

Fees & Commissions

What does it cost to sell with GRS Auctions?
GRS is paid through a commission based on the final hammer price. Commission rates are determined by the asset type, project complexity, and the labor required for auction setup (photos, descriptions, lotting, and onsite coordination). We’ll review the scope with you and provide a clear auction plan and quote before moving forward.

Is there a marketing budget for online auctions?
Yes. We market every auction to our established bidder base and build a targeted plan to attract new, qualified bidders for your specific assets. Depending on the auction, the plan may include email, social media, online auction platforms, and paid advertising. Any additional ad spend is planned and approved with you in advance.

Do I need to set a reserve price?
Reserves are optional and set by the seller, subject to auctioneer approval. Our team can advise whether a reserve makes sense for your assets.

Does GRS Auctions buy inventory directly?
Yes. In select cases, GRS will purchase surplus inventory or equipment outright. Contact us to discuss whether a direct purchase is the right fit for your situation.

Does GRS Auctions have insurance?
Yes. We carry general liability insurance appropriate for large projects and commercial site work. If your facility requires a certificate of insurance (COI), we can provide it before onsite work begins.

Logistics & Asset Removal

Do I need to deliver items to GRS?
Not necessarily. GRS conducts on-site auctions at your location or can coordinate asset transport depending on the project. We’ll discuss logistics during the planning phase.

What happens after the auction closes?
Winning bidders are invoiced and charged automatically. Pick-up times are scheduled through our Shipping Saint program.  We work with buyers to plan for their own labor and removal within the specified pickup window. For industrial assets, professional rigging may be required. GRS can recommend qualified providers.

Can GRS handle confidential asset dispositions?
Yes. We offer confidential asset disposition services for businesses that need to liquidate assets discreetly — without public association to the company or facility. Contact us directly to discuss your needs.
